Job description

Job Overview:

SAPA Transmission is seeking a Technician to specialize in assembling, maintaining, and repairing fully automatic transmissions for U.S. Army tracked vehicles. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and performance of our transmissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble transmission systems and components accurately according to specifications and work instructions.
  • Perform comprehensive transmission repairs, including disassembly, inspection, replacement of worn or damaged components (such as seals, bearings, gears, and valves), and precise reassembly.
  • Complete assembly and repair tasks on schedule to support production timelines and downstream operations.
  • Maintain clear documentation of work performed and promptly report any issues or defects.
  • Keep the work area organized and safe by cleaning and storing tools and materials at the end of each shift.
  • Follow all safety and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Basic knowledge of machinery, hydraulics, electrical, and other systems.
  • Proficient in utilizing hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers), precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and diagnostic equipment (pressure sensors, multimeters, power supply units).
  • Possesses a strong commitment to adhering to documented protocols and technical specifications (blueprints).
  • Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation.
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Availability for limited travel.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English across all mediums (written, verbal, and electronic).
