GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

To meet or surpass the expectations of every Guest by providing a friendly, safe and entertaining experience while completing accurate and efficient sales transactions along with increasing revenue opportunities through up-selling techniques.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Promote a positive, courteous, and professional attitude and appearance to all Space Needle Team Members and Guests.
  • Greet and interact with Guests in a friendly and outgoing manner.
  • Process ticket sales promptly and accurately.
  • Handle money efficiently and accurately.
  • Effectively incorporate proven and innovative up-selling techniques.
  • Maintain a high level of security at the Admissions Office.
  • Provide guests with positive information regarding present Space Needle offerings.
  • Assist in the ongoing training of Admissions Team Members in the operation of the Admissions Office.
  • Provide information about the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, other attractions, Seattle and the surrounding area.
  • Be knowledgeable about SkyLine functions in order to assist guests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Communicate with Elevator Operators to assist courtesy guests and estimate elevator wait time.
  • Be informed of scheduled group reservations and any special needs that may need to be addressed.
  • Suggest and stock supplies.
  • Notify leadership of reduced quantities in a timely manner to prevent running out.
  • Keep Admissions Office clean and organized.
  • Assist outside the Admissions Office with answering guest questions and providing direction.
  • Maintain competent working knowledge of the Accesso Ticketing System and all other relevant software
  • Any other responsibilities defined by management.
  • Be able to up-sell Day/Night tickets, Combo Packages and City Passes for genuine best interest for our guests.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote the sale of new ticket types and Annual Pass offerings.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately.
  • Use information contained in the Admissions Office Communication binders and emails.
  • Provide information about all areas of the Space Needle.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all Space Needle policies and procedures.
  • Know Space Needle emergency and fire/life/safety procedures.
  • Reassure the guests in times of emergency and participate as needed in emergency procedures.
  • Assist in training new Team Members.
  • Know and follow lost and found procedures.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proven great guest service skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Established up-selling techniques
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, use manual dexterity entire shift and work in confined space.
  • Ability to effectively communicate using the English language.
  • Strong initiative and decision-making ability.
  • Effective problem solving techniques and trouble shooting capabilities.
  • Competent in general principles of mathematics.
  • Knowledge of Seattle and surrounding area preferred.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Ability to react quickly and correctly in a fast paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with a diverse population.
  • General computer literacy and confidence with mobile devices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Full Time, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $20.50-20.50 / hour

  • Paid Time Off of 14 days / year based on working 2080 hours / year
