Job Description

We are currently looking for a Board Cutter to join our production team. As a Board Cutter, you will be responsible for operating cutting machinery to accurately cut board materials used in the production of book covers and other components. Your precision and attention to detail will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our finished products.

POSITION SUMMARY

Set up, operate, and maintain a machine that cuts board and cloth sheeting in preparation for binding books.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold and page or sheet size.

Measure from edge of board/sheet using scale to determine incremental cutting positions from guide.

Examine cut material for any imperfections.

Remove finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the next operation.

Record job information into log book.

Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

High school graduate.

Ability to read a ruler and perform basic math calculations.

Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions and job packets.

Good communication skills.

Stand for long periods of time.

Physically capable of lifting to 75lbs.

Manufacturing environment with noise exposure to varying levels.
