Location: San Juan, PR IN-OFFICE

Summary:

Technical Writer/Editors are responsible for overall identification, development, documentation, and support of client procurement documents, including:

  • aiding client in the identification, development, and documentation of procurement documents.
  • facilitating and participating in meetings and communications with team members, stakeholders, and clients; and
  • ensuring clients are fully briefed and understand the contents of the procurement.

Operational Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and coordinate assigned tasks to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
  2. Organize and plan assigned project tasks, resources, and schedules.
  3. Implement tasks in accordance with company and client standards and policies.
  4. Communicate task status to stakeholders and key project participants.
  5. Create and maintain reports to communicate task status.
  6. Draft and edit procurement documents.
  7. Respond to Procurement Project Lead and client to ensure timely delivery of service.
  8. Assist with procurement project implementation, including creation/management of project file documentation.
  9. Work with technical experts to develop procurement documents and packages.
  10. Provide problem resolution strategies and solutions to resolve client issues and concerns.
  11. Notify Procurement Project Lead of any issues or concerns that may require their notification or involvement.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure understanding of time allotted for task from Project Manager. Management of time and task to stay on schedule and within budget.
  2. Initiate and maintain appropriate coordination with other service lines for client needs and satisfaction.
  3. Assist with completion of project closeout and archive records upon project completion.
  4. Provide reporting information to Procurement Project Lead, as requested.

  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and other remote work technologies.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. At least two years of applicable experience in areas such as technical writing, planning, grant writing, or related area is required.
  3. At least two years of applicable experience working as a technical writer or editor in procurement, compliance, or a related area.
  4. Exceptional writing skills are essential.
  5. Able to convey complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  6. Strong command of grammar, punctuation, style, and formatting conventions.
  7. Solid understanding of technical concepts and terminology relevant to the industry.
  8. Able to comprehend complex information from subject matter experts and translate it into user-friendly documentation.
  9. Conduct research to gather information from various sources, including technical specifications, user manuals, and interviews with subject matter experts to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
  10. Keen eye for detail to spot inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and grammatical errors to ensure technical documentation is error-free.
  11. Proficiency in editing and proofreading.
  12. Knowledge of style guides (e.g., APA, Chicago Manual of Style) and editing techniques to ensure clarity and consistency.
  13. Familiarity with document authoring tools and software such as Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar tools used for creating and formatting technical documentation is essential.
  14. Basic knowledge of graphic design principles and multimedia tools is desired.
  15. Strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary to gather information, clarify requirements, and address feedback effectively.
  16. Bilingual (Spanish and English), both oral and written.
  17. Must reside in Puerto Rico.

Working conditions:

Monday to Friday (8:00am to 5:00pm). Sometimes needed to work outside of regular work hours (evenings, weekends, etc.).
