Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical system design, project management and construction administration to support renovation of biomedical research laboratories at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Candidate Requirements for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in an design engineering

· Strong background in healthcare and/or laboratory mechanical design;

· Understanding of applicable building design codes and specifications such as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) design standards; National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, International Mechanical Code (IMC); International Plumbing Code (IPC)); and International Building Code (IBC) is required;

· Proficiency in mechanical design using AutoCAD and REVIT;

· Knowledge or familiarity with the NIH Design Requirements Manual (DRM) is a big plus; and

· Ability to secure an NIH clearance in a timely manner is also required.
