The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be performing the role of a Logistics Management Specialist, supporting the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) product office.

The Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL

The Work Environment: On-Site.

Requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office. The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.

The Description:

The candidate is responsible to provide support to the Utility Helicopter Project Manager's Office in the development and management of aircraft requirements, including new procurement, upgrade, modification, or life extension of their current fleet and life cycle support efforts.

  • Provide life-cycle logistics support for assigned FMS cases.
  • Developing initial and life-cycle provisioning strategies and country specific recommendations, obtaining parts from US Army supply and non-US Army supply (OEM), rough order of magnitude (ROM) pricing, develop estimates for spares packages based on configuration of aircraft, and inventory tracking.
  • During and after fielding provides support to ensure that country requests for spares receive timely procurement and delivery.
  • Development of the ILS support plan for the country from cradle to grave.
  • Responsible for ensuring Total Package approach and development of fielding plan is executed for customer support after initial delivery of aircraft.
  • Will work with SAMD and UHPO to identify, coordinate and oversee training requirements.
  • Will support the PM, DPM, APMs, and functional staff in day-to-day accomplishment of issues, and in insuring continuity of effort.
  • Will also provide strategic/long term advice and recommendations regarding interface with the customer country and the OEM, on acquisition strategies and reviews.
  • Major spokesman by drafting all plans and correspondence, and other documents in direct support to the Product Manager's coordination and staffing of program decisions at senior Army staff levels.

Education & Experience:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with eight (8) years of related experience.
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSITIUTIONS:
      • PhD with four (4) years of related experience.
      • Master's Degree with six (6) years of related experience.
      • Associate's Degree with ten (10) years of relate experience.
      • High School Diploma/GED with fourteen (14) years of related experience.
    • Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience strongly preferred.
    • Army Acquisition Logistics and/or Aviation Branch experience in key functional areas such as, Operator, Quality Control (QC), Production Control (PC), repair shops, and maintenance teams.
    • Knowledge of DoD 5000 Series Acquisition regulations tied to Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and processes.
    • Knowledge of Army logistics requirements for aviation systems.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
    • Strong written and oral communication skills (memorandums, briefs, familiarization with DoD policy)
    • Detail oriented.
    • Organizational skills
    • Self-starter

Desired:

  • Ten (10) or more years of Utility Helicopter maintenance background on the UH-60 platform.
  • Active deployment experience developing spares packages or fielding aircraft.
  • BH crew chief / maintainer or Maintenance Test Pilot
  • Logistics background

Travel:

  • On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
