Substation Engineer

Main Responsibilities

• Take charge of projects concerning power distribution and transmission, involving a spectrum of voltage systems and equipment such as switchgear and transformers.
• Oversee internal and external engineering resources to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with project management to ensure seamless integration of designs into project timelines.
• Lead the electrical design process, create material specifications, evaluate vendor submissions, conduct electrical studies, and supervise drafting personnel.
• Apply extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles to make informed decisions on project tasks.
• Provide training and engineering support across various departments.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of substation components, control systems, and site layout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferrable
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in designing high voltage transmission lines.
• Proficiency in power system software tools such as PLS, PLS-CADD, and PLS-POLE is necessary.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and adept problem-solving abilities.
