About the Company

American GI Forum - National Veterans Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to establish and maintain a comprehensive community service agency with a diversified funding source serving the needs of Veterans, their families, and other individuals of the community who are in need. Our goal is to establish innovative programs of service for the contemporary needs, through an expansion and growth policy that will seek complimentary services that will generate self-sustaining mechanisms for the organization.

JOB DUTIES

This position will provide security for American GI Forum-National Veterans Outreach Program’s (AGIF-NVOP) facilities in San Antonio, Texas. They will cultivate a professional, safe and secure environment for all employees, and clients. Security Officers (SOs) will professionally coordinate with staff, and clients on daily bases. All SOs are the ambassadors of AGIF-NVOP and conduct themselves in accordance with Texas laws, organizational procedures, and security professional requirements. At all times SOs will maintain the highest level of professionalism showing integrity, respect, and responsibility ensuring a safe environment for AGIF-NVOP facilities. SOs will control entry and exit of clients and employees. While ensuring AGIF-NVOP, securely and safely, conducts outreach programs and operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, and proof of Texas Level 2 Security Guard Certification.
  • Position requires Security Guards to speak and write English.
  • Must be computer literate and be able to use Microsoft Office.
  • Applicant MUST be able to lift, move, carry and/or push up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and the ability to conduct mobile/foot patrols.
  • Applicant is required to read, understand, and follow the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Employ observation and reporting procedures.
  • Always maintaining professional conduct while employing situational de-escalation tools according to the industry standard Use of Force model.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL SHIFTS AS REQUIRED.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a background check, drug test and driving record check.
