An ideal candidate would be bilingual in English and Spanish, team orientated and highly motivated, with a focus on working efficiently and providing outstanding service to their “customers”, our Employees. The core requirements of the HR GENERALIST will be to offer HR operational support at a branch level to the field and management teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- General management of branch office to include supply orders, mail sorting, vendor management, etc.
- Oversee the New Hire onboarding process consisting of managing the pre-employment activities, new hire paperwork, and orientation of new hires.
- Must know Office Microsoft platforms, such as Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Maintain accurate employee records and files in the HRIS system and elsewhere as required.
- Remain in compliance with all local, state, and federal labor and employment laws.
- Partner with Branch Operations, All Levels of Management, and Field Personnel to ensure open lines of communication and that all needs are met. Foster a Team Environment, where this position is one of support.
- Primary contact for all Branch Field Employees regarding employee relations matters.
- Help coordinate the H2B program by assisting the HR Manager with the coordination of housing, transportation, prep of arrival kits, orientation, and any other request as needed.
- Support benefit enrollment as requested for New Hires and during annual Open Enrollment.
- Responsible for ensuring all incidents (Injuries, Auto Accidents, Property Damage) are reported timely and properly and following up as needed/requested throughout the reporting and/or claim process.
- Maintain and track employee disciplinary records.
- Track and recognize Birthdays and Work Anniversaries.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives, policies, and programs, as requested by the VP of Human Resources or HR Manager, to ensure compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
- Assist in terminations as needed and oversee the offboarding process.
- Participate in the preparation of reports or presentations as requested.
- Always suggest workflow enhancements to improve operational efficiencies.
- Assistance coordinating and participation in Company Events.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Paylocity preferred. Experience working with an HRIS system is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required, associate degree in a business-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience in HR Generalist or equivalent Role, preferably in a skilled trade industry (Landscape, Construction, etc.)
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal labor and employment laws
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIRED
- Prefer 1-year experience recruiting in landscape or other skilled trade industry.
- HR Certification Preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Work Conditions / Essential Functions:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, climate-controlled environment.
- Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Is frequently required to talk or listen.
- Works in light to moderate noise levels.
- Travel up to 10%
