Child Care Assistant Director

As an Assistant Director of Childcare, you play a crucial role in supporting the overall management and operations of the childcare facility. Working closely with the Director of Childcare, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality and developmentally appropriate care for children. Your role involves a combination of administrative tasks, staff supervision, and active engagement with children and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Management:

   • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of childcare programs.
   • Ensure that programs align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
   • Collaborate with the Director to create age-appropriate curricula and activities that promote child development.

2. Staff Supervision and Development:

   • Supervise childcare staff, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback.
   • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
   • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new childcare staff.

3. Parent Communication:

   • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
   • Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences, events, and workshops.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

   • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing childcare facilities.
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance, health, and emergency contact information.

5. Marketing:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred). CDA also preferred.
• Previous experience in a childcare setting, with a demonstrated understanding of child development principles.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
