Job Description

*** Must live in the Payson Area of Arizona ***


PURPOSE:

The Area Manager ensures the smooth daily operation of Arion Care's program. The Area Manager supervises Area Supervisors, Coordinators, Assistants, Schedulers, and any other support personnel on their team. Additionally, the Area Manager supervises the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and oversees member services within their caseload. The Area Manager maintains a member caseload and ensures excellent service delivery by developing and maintaining relationships with members, guardians/families, staff, and all state personnel. The Area Manager supports improvement with team efficiency including but not limited to, team systems, workflows, and resource utilization. The Area Manager also maintains compliance through the tracking and processing of all contractual and licensing regulations including all necessary certifications, data and record keeping and file audits.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination 5 years experience and education in the field of education, social work, disability services, or a related field
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience providing home care support (Arion Care supervisory experience preferred)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DPS fingerprint card
  • Ability to work with data base and software applications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Train and supervise team members
  • Participate in meetings, as scheduled
  • Coach and develop team members through an individualized approach
  • Handle all concerns and complaints as necessary; complete, document, and communicate resolutions appropriately
  • Meet monthly tasks and reports deadlines i.e. Denials, Cert Reports, Credit Cards
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet company deadlines
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, texts within one business day
  • Foster a psychologically safe workplace for team members
  • Oversee payroll and billing functions for caseload. Complete payroll processing on schedule.
  • Train DSPs
  • Collect, track and review data (habilitation data, ATC notes progress monitoring etc.) and all required paperwork
  • Utilize tracking systems to ensure DSPs are in compliance for employment and service delivery
  • Research denials to determine corrective action and rebilling status
  • Ensure all HIPAA policies and regulations are followed
  • Complete Incident Reporting protocols within set timeframe
  • Complete scheduled on-call rotations throughout the year
  • Ensure adequate staffing and coverage including emergency coverage is provided as needed
  • Track monthly billing totals for team
  • Coordinate services, i.e. place staff, follow up with new placements, follow through with funding source
  • Update tracking system to identify staff who are in danger of losing their certifications
  • Research denials to determine corrective action and rebilling status
  • Update on denials, reasons for denials, and action needed (if known)
  • Attend member's meetings, such as quarterly planning and other meetings as necessary
  • Assist members in acquiring resources or referrals necessary to support quality service provision (interpretation services, habilitation supports, community resources, etc.).
  • Ensure adequate staffing including emergency coverage is provided as needed.
  • Attend periodic community events as needed
  • Follow all company and State policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
  • Report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Refrain from excessive absenteeism.
  • Work all hours as scheduled.
  • Obtain prior approval for desired time off.
  • Maintain all records, logs, and other documentation as required by ISP, company rule and State policy and procedure.
  • Act as an appropriate role model.
  • Ensure that a clean and safe environment free from abuse, intimidation and harassment is maintained.
  • Quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations such as fire, application of CPR and First Aid, and behavioral interventions.
  • Maintain all training and certifications as required by State or Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ability to lift items up to 50 lbs., including boxes of paper
  • The ability to walk, kneel, stand, and bend
  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use and work with computer software and data bases to track information, good familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Patience and the ability to exercise restraint and self-control in potentially challenging situations
  • Ability to quickly respond to health, safety, and emergency situations
  • Ability to use and work with multiple data bases to research discrepancies, update databases, and maintain spreadsheets and tables
  • Ability to exercise patience while working quickly
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize needs effectively

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates as a remote telecommuting position, as Arion Care Solutions does not provide a separate workplace at a corporate location.   Working from home requires a high degree of discipline and the ability to have a space dedicated to work in the home and provision for childcare if appropriate. This position may require travel to different locations and in-person meetings.
