As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and developing relationships with businesses within your regional area of Orlando, FL. You will do this by reaching out to contacts, cold calling, visiting potential client locations, sending out literature packs/marketing announcements, and providing service to current clients. The Sales Representatives will also work closely with the Customer Service Support team and Supply Sales Representatives to develop a rapport with customers and create unique sales opportunities that align with long-term and short-term company goals. A successful candidate will be a motivated, driven individual who works well independently and is comfortable with cold calling and finding new clients this is the job for you!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Outside Sales Representative performs a range of duties including but not limited to the following:
- Work in an assigned territory to develop & maintain relationships with potential and existing clients by meeting clients out in the field
- Identifies and locates new clients through a variety of methods, including office/plant visits
- Applies knowledge of the field and product features to match products to client needs
- Works with territory Inside Sales Representative to negotiate prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements; prepare contracts and submit orders as necessary
- Answer inquiries from clients on orders or products; connect clients with customer support specialists, Tech Support, or an Inside Sales Representative as needed
- Provide information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients
- Periodically prepares and reports results, the status of accounts and leads to the manager
- As necessary, maintain customer data in NetSuite (ERP System)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 - 10 years of previous sales experience preferred; or a combination of education and experience
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills; upselling
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Familiar with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is highly preferred
- Ability to learn new software
- Exemplary communicator, both written and verbally in English; Spanish or French a plus
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines or quotas
- Great attention to detail
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit in a stationary position for long periods; occasionally move around the office and reach into cabinets, drawers, etc.; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions: Standard office environment with fluorescent lighting, regular interruptions, and a standard noise level.
