Job Overview:
Utility Composites, Inc is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Injection Molding Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in maintaining and troubleshooting injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime. Responsibilities also include light building preventive maintenance/repairs, and occasional injection mold assembly and set-up.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment (dryers, granulators, conveyors, ovens, cyclone, loaders…) to ensure efficient operation and so equipment is kept in top condition.
· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues promptly.
· Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to identify and implement improvements in machine performance.
· Conduct all scheduled preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
· Maintain complete and accurate records of preventive maintenance activities and repairs in our computer database system.
· Follow standard safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
· Building maintenance: A/C filter replacement, light bulb replacement, water filter changes, plus any minor building system repairs.
Qualifications
· Proven experience as an Injection Molding Maintenance Technician or similar role.
· Strong knowledge of injection molding machinery.
· Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing problems with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
· Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
· Ability to perform physical job duties: may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.
Education
· High school diploma or equivalent plus technical degree or certification in a related field
· Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus.
Experience
· Mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience: 5 years
· Plastics injection molding experience: 5 years (preferred)
· PCL experience (preferred)
