Business Development Manager – Advanced Composites

Location: Romeo, MI
Travel: Up to 20% (Domestic & International)

Drive Growth in Advanced Materials

Are you a driven sales professional with experience in advanced composites, engineered materials, adhesives, or sealants? We're looking for a Business Development Manager to help expand our presence across the aerospace, defense, industrial, and construction markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with engineering teams to bring innovative material solutions to market.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive profitable growth.
  • Identify and pursue new customers within the aerospace, defense, industrial, and construction markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, Tier suppliers, distributors, and key industry partners.
  • Grow existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new applications.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development, marketing, and operations teams to develop customized customer solutions.
  • Lead technical and commercial discussions throughout the sales process.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and long-term customer partnerships.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts and business development reporting.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
  • Share customer insights and competitive intelligence to help shape future product development and commercialization efforts.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven business development or technical sales experience within advanced composites, engineered materials, adhesives, sealants, specialty chemicals, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of one or more of the following:
    • Advanced composites
    • Carbon fiber
    • Fiberglass
    • Epoxy resin systems
    • SMC/BMC materials
    • Structural adhesives
    • Sealants
    • Engineered materials
  • Experience selling technical products into one or more of these industries:
    • Aerospace
    • Defense
    • Industrial Manufacturing
    • Construction
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and growing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including occasional international travel.


Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of lightweight materials and composite manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with structural bonding technologies or advanced material applications.
  • Existing relationships within aerospace, defense, industrial, or construction markets.
  • Experience working with OEMs, Tier suppliers, or advanced manufacturing organizations.
