Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Summary:

The HR Generalist will provide support to the HR Manager through involvement in all functional areas of the HR department with the emphasis being in recruiting, onboarding/off boarding, employee relations, benefit/leave administration, HRIS data entry, and payroll. This role will be hands-on, and employee focused. This role will be a change manager for continuous improvement of employee morale while maintaining orderly utilization of human capital while ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.


Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and leaders. Address inquiries related to HR policies and procedures. Create positive experiences for employees and develop close partnerships with managers and employees.
  • Provide backup support for bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salary employees, resolve timesheet discrepancies, provide payroll reporting and other payroll related data.
  • Lead the interpretation and implementation of established policies and procedures throughout the company.
  • Lead the employee relations and ensures compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
  • Coach all employee levels including management and executive leaders on behaviors and techniques to achieve leadership excellence and culture-to-performance outcomes.
  • Contribute to culture and change management.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate the onboarding process.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support career development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist in administering employee benefits programs and open enrollment processes.
  • Handle employee relations issues professionally and confidentially, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Plans and coordinates employee activities and special events and leads the Employee Activities Committee
  • Comply with and actively support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures of the Company.
  • Leads internal investigations and audits regarding compliance with external laws, regulations, and applicable Company policies.
  • Assists in promoting and enhancing the Company’s image.
  • Participates in community affairs and represents the company in professional organizations.
  • Train supervisors & managers who have time keeping responsibilities in best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience collecting and analyzing employee timesheet data, executing payroll for hourly and salary employees desired.
  • Experience conducting full cycle recruiting for multiple positions required.
  • Ability to think outside the box to make improvements.
  • Experience developing winning staffing strategies and action plans.
  • High degree of Emotional Intelligence
  • Understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism and uphold the company's ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in progressively responsible HR roles
  • Experience working for a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of IRS and FLSA rules and regulations
  • Previous experience with ADP and SAP desired
  • PHR or SPHR desired

Physical Demands:

Physical demands may include but not limited to the following:

  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery.
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets.
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE while in production area.
