Banquet Captain

Our successful hotel is seeking a dedicated banquet captain who is eager to provide our guests with an unforgettable event experience. We require someone with exceptional leadership abilities to manage banquet staff and ensure that our hotel services are of the highest quality. This position has not turned over often at this hotel. Responsibilities

•Operates as a Supervisor overseeing the daily execution of all banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
•Must possess excellent skills including interpersonal relationships, communication, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
•Responsible for preparing and serving meeting breaks in a timely and professional manner, as directed by the Director of Sales, and Catering and Special Events Manager.
•Oversees meeting rooms, equipment setup/breakdown, and equipment operation. Leads set-up and break down banquet staff to accomplish this in a timely manner and to the customer's satisfaction.
•The Banquet Captain will coordinate training, scheduling, equipment, and general issues about the Conference area, including maintenance. This position ensures equipment is kept in good working order and staff are trained in the use of all equipment.
•Motivates team members and promotes empowerment. Directs with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

•Prior experience in a conference center operation.
•Prefer previous experience as a supervisor in a conference center setting.
•Must be personable and able to interact with hotel guests as well as members of the Management Team and Banquet Staff.
•Show a proven record of Time Management Skills.
•Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting to 50 pounds, bending, and reaching, stooping, pushing, kneeling, or crouching.
•May need to take Best Western training classes according to the Best Western standards.
