To accomplish this we partner with schools, workplaces, and volunteers all over Eastern Massachusetts to bring our program and services closest to youth who need them.

Role Summary
The role of South Coast regional manager within our agency is a critical position which helps us grow and be active in the major cities in Southeast Massachusetts, especially Brockton, New Bedford and Fall River. The regional manager keeps their ear to the ground to identify how we can best serve our constituents. This means interacting directly with community organizations, housing developments, local corps, etc. with the purpose of developing strong bilateral relationships.

Internally, the regional manager partners with every department in our agency, sharing insights about their community, helping to plan ahead, and identifying opportunities. Externally, the regional manager is responsible for the recruitment of volunteers and families to our programs. They achieve this by cultivating and creating unique engagement opportunities, including formal presentations, events, and leveraging the BBBSEM network to speak on our behalf and share our message as broadly as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently build a network of key influencers and affiliations that will enable the growth of volunteer opportunities in the region
  • Share resources and capacity across regions to best supports the agency’s overall mission
  • Co-create a execute a multi-year strategic plan for the region with agency leadership and in alignment with the larger agency plans
  • Identify, pursue and cultivate community, corporate and educational partners that can or do align with BBBSEM’s Vision and Mission
  • Consistently fuel a pipeline of vital corporate and community partnerships that provide pipelines for mentors and mentees.
  • Participate in fundraising and recruitment activities as designated by CEO/CDO
  • Regularly acquire feedback and input from internal and external stakeholders. Analyze market data and research to understand and identify trends, challenges, and opportunities within the region
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of work experience, preferably in marketing, sales, recruiting, and/or development
  • Ability to learn and speak to BBBSEM’s purpose and Eastern Massachusetts landscape, communities and cultures.  Existing network to leverage in this position a plus.
  • Ability to communicate with professionalism, enthusiasm, and empathy to large groups and individuals verbally and in writing
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the region when necessary; available to attend events in the early morning, evenings, and weekends.  Travel to Boston headquarters at minimum once per month.
Desired Qualifications
  • Effective and confident public speaker; ability to develop strong working relationships.  Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills; ability to network and gain access to decision-makers; genuine listener; comfortable making cold calls and setting up appointments
  • Experience successfully working with and recruiting with keen understanding of volunteer motivations, needs and expectations.
  • Demonstrated comfort and ability to work with and motivate a wide variety of people, including youth and adults, with a preference for candidates with experience in racially, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse urban and/or recent immigrant communities. Language capacity is a plus.
  • Passion for working in the community: forming, maintaining and strengthening relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, prospect, pursue, and close leads.
  • Ability to successfully work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven organization and time management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast paced setting
  • Strategic problem-solving ability with a positive, “can do” attitude

Salary Range: $57,000 - $65,000
