Position Summary:
The Associate Process Engineer role is an essential position within our organization, focusing on the personal care manufacturing industry. This position is tasked with supporting manufacturing efforts and collaborating closely with chemists to ensure the production of high-quality batches of skin care, sunscreens, and other related products. The individual will play a pivotal role in validating and monitoring equipment and processes, introducing new formulations to production, and implementing continuous improvements to existing formulations.

The individual will play a pivotal role in validating and monitoring equipment and processes, introducing new formulations to production, and implementing continuous improvements to existing formulations.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Support: Serve as a manufacturing resource for the pilot-scale manufacture of new Skin Care, Sunscreens, and Body Care products.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for manufacturing processes, conduct technical investigations, write comprehensive reports, and assist in resolving deviations.
- Technology Transfers: Lead or support the transfer of technologies by conducting experiments in labs or pilot plants and provide technical risk assessments for new manufacturing processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Chemists and Compounders to ensure seamless information flow regarding formulas and processes.
- Process Implementation: Oversee the implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment, ensuring the transition from pilot scale to full operational capacity for complex products.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on regulatory and quality requirements pertinent to manufacturing processes.
- Documentation: Review and author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) manufacturing.
- Validation: Develop or endorse the validation of equipment and/or processes.
- Communication: Maintain regular interaction with senior technical peers and colleagues, demonstrating leadership and influence.
- Flexibility: Handle assignments across multiple functional areas (process, project, etc.).
- Project Support: Undertake other functions as necessary to support ongoing operations and customer-focused projects.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry, with strong technical and/or regulatory expertise.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with excellent project management skills for tech transfer projects.
- High level of initiative, innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization and in team settings.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Quick adaptation to changing circumstances with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering
- 2-5 years of experience in Personal Care Manufacturing
- Background in or working knowledge of personal care industry and cGMP's
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment including a respirator, glove and eye protection
- Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment where there is exposure to occupational hazards
