Architectural Designer

Linn Engineering & Design, Inc., providing design and construction management services in-house and through partnerships with other key professionals in the design and construction industry. Linn Engineering & Design specializes in all aspects of commercial and residential design and drafting. We are looking forward to adding a designer with experience in both residential and commercial projects; from retail and restaurant build outs, to residential custom homes, additions and spec homes. This position would be a great fit for an individual with knowledge of the industry and AutoCAD with ambition to grow, enjoys being detailed, and a team player. Bi-lingual is always a plus, but not required.

Typical duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Design all phases of commercial build-outs, residential homes and design drawings to compile complete sets of conceptual plans, preliminary plans, and final construction plans for permit.
• Ability to maintain structural CAD files for use in structural design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, troubleshoot).
• Capable of coordinating projects with engineers, administrator and other drafters in the office.
• Capable to research on materials, building codes, and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Develop technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings per office standards.
• Utilize and support quality control processes per office standards.
•  Knowledge of construction techniques and constructability.
•  Must coordinate with and help resolve conflicts with other disciplines based on an excellent understanding of the design process and the clients expectations.
• Ability to independently create simple standard details that may be required for a project under guidance of supervisor.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge in AutoCAD software
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid Drivers License
• Reliable Transportation 5 days a week

Schedule:

• 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Monday thru Friday

Education:

• 4-year degree in industry related major

Experience:

• AutoCAD: 3 years (Preferred)
