We are currently seeking an experienced and team-orientated Dietary Food Service Director to lead our Dietary Team at the Armenian Rehab in Jamaica Plain.

Overview: The Armenian Rehab in Jamaica Plain, is currently seeking a Dietary Food Service Director to run the operational activities involved in preparing and serving nutritious and delicious meals to our residents every day. At our facility, we strive to provide each resident with healthy, nutritious and delicious menu options. Meal times are always popular and we have many dining options to offer our valued residents. Our residents can start their day with hearty breakfasts, enjoy freshly prepared lunches, and choose from traditional favorites or contemporary cuisine for dinner. The health of our residents is vital, so we make sure we incorporate well-rounded meals into our menus. Serving only the freshest ingredients, residents always have choices of fresh salads, seasonal vegetables, hearty meat, fish and chicken entrees, pasta and potato dishes, fruits and home-baked desserts.

Qualifications:

  • Required: A minimum of seven years restaurant or food service management experience including production, service, sanitation, training and education.
  • Required LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Serve Safe Certified obtained within 6 months of employment. Additional certifications required by federal, state and/or local regulations
  • Preferred: Bachelor s degree in Hospitality, Culinary, Restaurant/Institution Management, Dietetics or Nutrition preferred.

Position Overview:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of all Dietary Staff on the Dietary Team. Trains new employees and conducts performance evaluations and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintaining high standards in food preparation and service. Ensure that diets are served accurately, and that food substitutions are appropriate.
  • Plans weekly menus in-advance and orders all supplies to ensure meals are complete.
  • Keeps records of food served and food substitutions, records purchases and usages.
  • Keeps all files or binders updated on recipes for all food items.
  • Inspects purchases food for high standard quality.
  • Participates in resident care meetings, infections control, and any special events needed.
  • Responsible for all special events related to food and services.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all Dietary Staff.
  • Works closely with maintenance in regards to all codes, regulations and repairs of equipment.
  • Attend and participates in all necessary management meetings and forums.

Hours: Full-Time Monday Friday; Some evening and weekend coverage (if needed) to manage the department.
