Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Family Practice Company: Sterling Medical Location: New York City

Job Description: Sterling Medical is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Family Practice to provide essential services for on-site clinic health units/shelters or events, particularly for Sterling Medical`sCommercial and Government contracts, with a focus on rapid deployments to support emergency and disaster efforts. This is a temporary position, and the length of assignment may vary based on operational needs and client requirements. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Candidates must be local to New York City.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing medical services at the scope and level of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to ensure the health and well-being of employees and client personnel.
  • Conducting systematic assessments of urgent or emergent health needs, analyzing data, and collaborating with the medical team to formulate comprehensive care plans.
  • Diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries within the scope of licensure and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with established protocols and privacy regulations.
  • Recognizing and documenting signs and symptoms of physical and mental health conditions.
  • Demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and decision-making abilities on a daily basis.
  • Safeguarding patient privacy through adherence to confidentiality protocols, infection control measures, and proper medication administration procedures.
  • Responding to inquiries while upholding the confidentiality of company proprietary information.
  • Adhering to corporate safety policies and performing duties in a safe manner.
  • Fulfilling additional duties as assigned in accordance with contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) New York State License and the ability to obtain favorable credentialing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, standard office equipment, and MS Office software.
  • Capability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and stressful environment without physical limitations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes in work requirements or operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in COVID-19 response or emergency management.
  • 2 years of experience in ER-Triage, Infection Control, or Critical Care as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The role may involve prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and lifting may be required for patient care and transport.
  • Additional personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines may apply due to the current global health climate.
