Role Overview:

As our experienced People Operations Lead, you'll report to the VP, People & Culture, you'll ensure smooth operations and compliance in our benefits, payroll and contingent workforce management areas. Your expertise will guide strategic people initiatives and contribute to organizational design and employee development. With your approachable and proactive nature, you will enhance our People practices and programs, contributing to a work environment where our team can thrive and drive forward our company culture.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee benefits-related inquiries, issues, enrollment, and changes. Provide guidance and support to employees throughout the process.
  • Manage day-to-day administration of employee benefits including broker/vendor management, recordkeeper, strategy/evaluation of plan options, negotiation of contracts, and communication rollout.
  • Plan and conduct Open Enrollment, advising on plan improvements, implementing new benefit carriers, and auditing data.
  • Streamline and manage the leave of absence and accommodations process.
  • Manage the payroll process including creating payroll batches, reconciling payroll, validating reports, and approving payroll.
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll and benefits data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal legislation related to benefits and payroll, including ERISA, IRS, ACA, and FLSA requirements. This includes preparation of required notices, Form 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, and maintaining compliance posters.
  • Develop & lead operational aspects of the contingent workforce management, including approvals, contract review, onboarding/offboarding, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations governing payroll, benefits, and employment practices, ensuring the organization meets legal standards and industry practices.
  • Assist with HRIS administration related to reporting, onboarding, offboarding, compensation, and benefits.
  • Manage and execute the verification of employment processes, ensuring accurate and timely responses to requests from external and internal parties.
  • Contribute to key People Operations projects including workforce management and organizational design.
  • Assist with the performance review process and contribute to employee development and performance enhancement.
  • Support culture events and initiatives, and other People-related activities as directed by People Team.
  • Manage People team's mailing via earth class mail.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a People Operations role, with hands-on experience in benefits and payroll management.
  • Proven expertise in payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Proficiency in navigating complex employment laws and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements, including ERISA, ACA, and FLSA.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability, aligning HR initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Proficient in analyzing external factors like market trends and regulatory changes to adjust HR strategies appropriately.

What We Offer

Compensation:

The starting cash compensation range for this role is $85,000-110,000, inclusive of Base Salary + Variable Target, vs base salary only. This position is also eligible for equity & benefits. More information will be shared regarding your specific location during the hiring process.

Our compensation market ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum cash compensation target for new hire compensation for this position based in the US. Exact individual pay is determined by actual location, skills, capabilities and experience in addition to our benchmarking factors.
