About the Role

The Associate Director, Social Media Strategy will be a leader in social media engagements, delivering high quality work across our portfolio of health and life sciences clients while facilitating the growth of the department. You will lead clients and teams through strategic social media initiatives while providing expert insight that can be used in engagement and omnichannel strategy. You'll spearhead innovation by exploring new approaches and services to enhance the agency's offerings.

This is a role for a true T-shaped social media marketer who is well-versed in DTC/HCP social media while expressing an active interest in expanding skills across engagement strategy, omnichannel, data analytics, creative development and account management. You will join an agile team, looking for the next big way to merge data and activation across our portfolio of clients. You will report to the Vice President of Social & Linguistics Strategy and this role can be remote or hybrid depending on location.

You Will:

  • Lead in creating top-notch social strategies and content plans, ensuring feedback, strategic consultation and social media management is done to a high level.
  • Guide clients and teams on social media strategies and issues, providing insights before implementation.
  • Be the go-to social media subject matter expert, providing insight around platform capabilities, specifications and functionalities for clients and external audiences
  • Inform and develop new approaches, ideas, and services to expand the agency's social media and strategy capabilities
  • Lead teams through social listening,
  • Aid in omnichannel and engagement strategy initiatives, promoting social media's alignment into client's omnichannel mix
  • Counsel clients and teams on best practices for social media execution, showcasing deep knowledge of platform functionalities, formats, trends, and both organic and paid content across major social channels like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, and YouTube.
  • Stay up to date with latest digital marketing trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge

You Will Bring:

  • At least 5 years of experience in health, biotech, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience developing and presenting strategic social media plans across various channels, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest, with a strong understanding of both organic and paid content.
  • Experience growing social media business with existing clients and participating in new business pitches.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA and FTC regulations for social media in the biotech and pharma industries.
  • Experience in client service, in an agency environment, with experience collaborating within integrated teams.
  • Skill with social monitoring and measurement tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, marketing, or communications
