Job description

Director, Social Media

At A&G, we are recognized and envied for our craft and creative efficacy. Our mission is to seek and attract the most fearless talent and brave brands who want to do work that works. We believe in the power of creativity to transform brands, businesses, and communities, and we are driven by insights, imagination, and tireless collaboration. We exist to help brands be Unignorable.

As Director, Social Media, you will serve as the strategic anchor and lead for A&G's Social Media capabilities. You'll be responsible for owning the high-level strategy, client counseling, and growth of your accounts - with a primary focus on organic and paid social strategy, content strategy, and platform expertise. You'll also oversee A&G's Creator Relations capabilities, ensuring the two disciplines work in lockstep, while serving as an active driver of agency-wide innovation and industry visibility. Sitting within A&G's PR practice - which leads with an earned-first mindset that you'll bring to organic and paid social strategy - you'll report directly to the SVP, PR Practice Lead.

Note that A&G is a hybrid agency, and this role will be expected to collaborate in-person three days a week in our Boston ThirdSpace.

Craftsmanship

Continuously elevate the quality of our Social Media & Creator Relations capabilities to amplify business outcomes, drive exceptional agency output, and deliver an outstanding client experience.

  • Serve as client lead for all Social Media & Creator Relations account partnerships, accountable for consistent excellence across all account efforts
  • Lead the development of tailored Social Media strategies based on a deep understanding of the client's business objectives, target audiences, and competitive landscape
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, problem-solving in real time, providing support in times of crisis, and sparking excitement in clients about trying new approaches and platforms
  • Own the development of organic and paid Social Media strategies and content calendars for existing client accounts, including channel strategy and platform selection
  • Provide strategic oversight of A&G's Creator Relations capabilities, ensuring creator strategy and execution ladder up to and reinforce broader Social Media and brand strategy
  • Partner with Strategy, Media, and Creative teams to translate brand narratives into channel-native content
  • Lead workflows to ensure Social Media and Creator Relations efforts are seamlessly integrated with Newsroom and broader integrated teams
  • Manage the day-to-day financial health of partnerships, including contribution to SOWs, staffing plans, and budget tracking
  • Regularly track and report on performance metrics, providing high-level strategic insights to drive optimization
Curiosity

Proactively explore the evolving social and creator landscape to enhance our partnerships and make our contributions to client relationships and the final work stronger.

  • Live "chronically online," staying connected to platforms, culture, trends, and inspiring content to ensure solutions resonate with clients' audiences
  • In partnership with department leadership, drive ongoing research initiatives to identify new platforms, formats, and tools to expand Social Media capabilities, and educate the broader agency on these insights
  • Maintain a working understanding of the creator landscape and platform-specific creator economics to credibly guide the discipline
  • Identify and establish new partnerships or tools to scale agency-wide Social Media and Creator Relations capabilities
Creativity

A problem solver to the core, you'll constantly seek new approaches to strengthen your work, ideas, and our teams at large - pushing against the conventional to spark action.

  • Actively contribute to new business pitches and executive meetings, confidently presenting Social Media and Creator Relations capabilities
  • Consistently identify and seize new opportunities to create unignorable moments for our clients and our agency that create tangible growth for business
  • Lead the development of Social Media workflows, governance, and templates that push the discipline forward
Culture

You are a present and positive member of our A&G community, demonstrating our values and fostering an energizing and inclusive environment that transcends our walls.

  • Manage 13 direct reports, prioritizing the coaching, mentorship, and stewardship of their career growth
  • Continuously identify and implement ways to raise the quality and consistency of deliverables across Social Media and Creator Relations
  • Actively contribute to fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and inclusive agency culture

What You Bring:

  • You have 810 years of relevant social media experience - inclusive of both organic and paid strategy, content development, and platform management - across B2C and B2B brands. Social media strategy is your primary area of depth and expertise.
  • You have proven skill, hands-on experience, and continued interest in leading Creator Relations and influencer marketing.
  • You have deep, current fluency across major social platforms, with a track record of adapting strategy to algorithm and format changes.
  • You have a proven track record of leading successful social media programs that drive measurable business results. Note that sharing a portfolio will be required.
  • You have experience in agency land or on the client side in a fast-paced environment, leading multiple projects, lines of business, and growth areas simultaneously.
  • You're skilled at synthesizing complex data and trends into clear, persuasive strategy and storytelling.
  • You're experienced in new business pitch rooms and executive meetings and are skilled at presentations - both developing written communications and confidently presenting to clients and senior leadership.
  • You're entrepreneurial in spirit. You respect established processes but are equally as excited about new challenges that haven't been approached before and building something new.
  • You love being a people manager and prioritize coaching and mentorship of junior team members. This point is last on the list in sequence but first in priority.

Why A&G?

  • Join a vibrant team that values creativity, innovation, and making a positive impact.
  • Work with a diverse range of clients across industries such as Travel, Tourism, Healthcare, Financial Services, Restaurants, Retail, Food & Beverage, Higher Education, Economic Development and Clean Energy/Sustainability.
  • Be part of a culture that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and having fun while doing great work.
  • Collaborate with a team driven by insights, imagination, and tireless collaboration to create inventive brand experiences that evoke emotion, spur action, and create impact.
  • Help brands and people transform into the best version of themselves so they can live their purpose each day and have a positive impact on the world.

If you're ready to take your career to the next level and contribute to transforming brands, businesses, and communities, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and let's create something amazing together.
