We have an exciting opportunity for a GN&C Systems Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If selected you will:

  • Plan the development and evaluation of safety-critical, human rated flight software
  • Perform system integration, interface management and coordination duties
  • Develop and manage software requirements
  • Create software testing and verification procedures
  • Develop flight software development processes and procedures
  • Design software release planning and estimation
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience
  • Knowledgeable in source code control
  • Experience with safety-critical, human-rated flight system requirements
  • Experience in the following flight software specialty areas
  • GN&C software development
  • Software process and procedure development
  • Software Integration and Build Management
  • ​Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and normally possess 20+ years of related experience
  • ​Experience with NASA/TRICK simulation environment
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Extensive entry descent and landing software development experience
  • Hardware-in-the-loop lab data handling experience
  • Experience with safety-critical, human-rated embedded software development
  • Object oriented software development
  • Agile software development
  • Software project management experience
