Grants Accounting Coordinator
We have partnered with a nonprofit organization who is seeking a detail-oriented Grants Accounting Coordinator. The Grants Accounting Coordinator provides fiscal and administrative support and ensures compliance with all funding requirements on contracts and grants for the Center. This is a hybrid role (2x in office).
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with program directors, managers, and project teams to understand the financial needs and objectives of each grant-funded project and ensure seamless grant administration.
- Serve as the fiscal contact for funders to understand specific grant requirements, ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and ensure reporting requirements are met.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other departments, program management, and grants management team to assist in the preparation of budgets and financial sections of grant proposals, renewals, close-outs, and fiscal and programmatic site visits to ensure accuracy and alignment with funding agency guidelines.
- Prepare and process monthly invoices, reimbursements, cost reports, financial reports, general ledger journal entries, and other financial documentation necessary for grant-funded activities.
- Reconcile grant-related financial transactions such as revenue, receivable, and expenses to the general ledger at month-end and year-end.
- Provide support to the finance department during the month-end close process.
- Monitor, review, and prepare grant budgets, budget modifications, renewals, and applications, and maintain an active listing of progress (i.e., pending, in progress, submitted, approved, disapproved, etc.).
Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience in related field or equivalent education with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.
- Prefer one-year progressive experience in grant accounting and working in a dynamic multi-service environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
