Job Description

JOB SUMMARYThe HR Specialist will assist the entire HR department and facility with tactical HR functions and employee relations. The HR Specialist will lead and support HR Coordinators with daily HR activities such as maintaining appropriate record keeping, personnel and pay changes, employee relation concerns, and investigations. Investigations may not be limited to HR, but also support and assist with environmental, health and safety matters. The HR Specialist will also assist with cross functional benefits, 401k, and leave policies. The HR Specialist will report directly to the VP of HR & EHS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create and build trustworthy relationships with department managers and understand what the business needs and goals are.
Employee relations and development with the workforce.
Listen to employee concerns and complaints, complete thorough and unbiased investigations with timely follow-up and closure.
Review payroll audits, data, and personnel record changes
Understand and execute company leaves, FMLA management, and benefits as necessary.
Expert in Company policies and procedures and a brand ambassador for the Creekstone Proud culture.
Support cross functional recruiting needs and interviews.
Any other department needs request by the VP of HR

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, science, animal science, organizational development/leadership, communications, or HR.
Prefer SHRM or HRCI certification, but not required.
Solid understanding of business and HR practices/ethics
High attention to detail
Strong communication skills which include written and verbal communication
Strong relationship building skills with teamwork experience.
Ability to make sound decisions with a level of ownership.
Ability to pivot to other items quickly and multitask.
Ability to work in diverse work environment and production area
Must understand and demonstrate a “Creekstone Proud” mindset
