Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitors key macro-economic trends and forecasts affecting StatLab commodities and provides executive guidance on potential impacts.
  2. Develops and implements long and short-range sourcing strategies for complex and high-risk parts inclusive of maintaining and improving:
    1. Supply continuity
    2. Quality stability
    3. Cost stability
  3. Executes procurement improvement projects from savings identification, project scope, resource identification, implementation, and results tracking.
  4. Monitoring and drives improvements to key procurement including contract spend rates, expected to actual savings, purchase price variances, and contract compliance.
  5. Works with buyers, engineers, and management to identify sources for new product needs.
  6. Manages strategic RFP/RFQ processes.
  7. Responsible for effective interface between company and suppliers on strategic/critical quality, engineering and procurement matters.
  8. Oversees the contract lifecycle including:
    1. Establishing and maintaining a favorable terms boiler plate supplier contract.
    2. Setting and achieving objectives on contracted spend %
    3. Monitoring contract compliance
    4. Contract renewal and end-of-life
  9. Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the Company to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  10. Influences the broader supply chain team to become change agents, data driven decision makers, and discipline experts.
  11. Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values and Purpose.
  12. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters for Purchasing Team Members including hiring, firing, coaching, pay changes, recruiting, and investigations.
  13. Provides guidance to Team Members when needed or directs them to the appropriate personnel.
  14. Provides excellent customer service.
  15. Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
  16. Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
  17. Adheres to all OSHA, company, and other relevant safety guidelines and holds others accountable to same guidelines such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurs in any 12-month period.
  18. Follows other policies and procedures such that no verbal or written warnings are received during any evaluation period.

The duties described above are not inclusive. Additional duties may be permanently assigned or required from time to time due to the need to respond to customer needs and remain competitive in the marketplace.

Minimum, Knowledge, and Skills Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or equivalent number of years of experience.
  2. Ability to negotiate and close large deals.
  3. Sound understanding of cost drivers and sources of waste; and ability to push organization to optimize costs.
  4. Sound understanding of legal contracts. Ability to comprehend, identify unfavorable or risky terms, and edit contracts.
  5. Five or more years’ experience in corporate strategic sourcing or procurement.
  6. Three years supervisory experience.
  7. Strong experience with ERP systems,
  8. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  9. Skilled in use of computer and software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  10. Fluently speak, read, and write English.
  11. Skilled in time management and multi-tasking.
  12. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in front of groups of co-workers and vendors at all levels of corporate organizations.
  13. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, freight, and percentages.
  14. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  15. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  16. Ability to learn and perform primary functions of positions within department.
  17. Ability to manage stress.
  18. Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include but are not limited to walking; bending; pushing; pulling; sitting for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer, phone and headset; and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 25 pounds.
  19. Position spends approximately 90% of time sitting at a desk and 10% standing or walking.
  20. Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to computers and general office equipment at various times. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. May occasionally be required to work, walk, and interact in other environments such as a warehouse or production facility where the noise level is high.

This position is onsite in our office in McKinney, Texas.

The salary range for this position is $100,000-125,000 annual salary plus eligibility for bonus program at 10%.
