Our capabilities include OEM design, aftermarket services, engine accessory repairs, aircraft control components, and advanced avionics and digital airfield solutions.Located in East Aurora, New York, our team in Commercial Strategic Sourcing is looking for a remote, (hybrid if local) Strategic Sourcing Manager to join them. You will report directly to the Senior Strategic Sourcing ManagerThe Strategic Sourcing Manager, an individual contributor, develops/manages the execution of strategic sourcing plans including make vs buy, buy vs buy, or buy to make inputs. This includes Supply Chain network design and the identification, selection and development of suppliers. It also includes the creation, negotiation and management of supplier Contracts/Long Term Agreements (LTA’s) for the entire product life cycle for bearings and bearing products supporting all Commercial Aircraft Group (CAG) sites.As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will…
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute tactical and long-term strategic sourcing plans for multiple parts and a variety of products within an assigned commodity grouping. This includes providing strategic input to the Make vs Buy business planning process, and leading Buy to Buy and Make to Buy supplier transitions.
  • Research and identification of suppliers to achieve an effective Supply Chain network design based on quality, lead time, vendor managed inventory and total landed cost to achieve the required business objectives. Provide proposal support to the Business Sectors for current programs and new business pursuits.
  • Be responsible for supplier selection after considering input and consulting with a cross functional team through a Supplier Selection process. Determines when products should be sourced to a single vendor or multiple vendors to mitigate risk and provide continuity of supply and long-term competitiveness.
  • Develop new supplier capabilities/competencies through strategic supplier partnerships to generate competitive advantage. Establish and manage the required relationships, investment, training and resource requirements to successfully complete planned supplier development.
  • Collaborate across the global Supply Chain organization and with other function business partners to analyze demand and supply trends, including the evaluation of lead times and total landed cost to identify and drive Supply Chain improvements. Continuously assess strategic sourcing requirements to define strategic sourcing policies, supplier contractual requirements, business objectives, initiatives, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts/Legal function to define, flow down and negotiate supplier contractual requirements. Be the senior escalation point for suppliers that are not performing in accordance with contractual terms and conditions. Assess and collaborate with other business partners to determine and manage appropriate actions required to address contractual related supplier performance issues.
  • Manage Supplier New Product Introduction (NPI) in collaboration with Sector Program Manager.
  • Relationship management for supplier partners to achieve effective global long term business partnerships. Includes support for the Regional and Site Supply Chain teams with supplier relationships and contract management.
  • Travel up to 25% (Domestic/International)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.  
  • 5 years relevant global Supply Chain knowledge and leadership experience.
  • A relevant advanced (graduate level) degree is desirable and will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Supply Chain Professional Certification is desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of compiling and negotiating contractual terms and conditions for long-term supplier agreements.
  • Proven collaborative leadership capability within a multicultural geographically dispersed environment. 
  • Strong communication skills are required in the form of written, verbal and formal presentation.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $100,000.00–$145,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog\'s total compensation package for employees.
