Role Summary

As Rand Technology's Director of Strategic Sourcing, you will lead global sourcing strategy, market intelligence, and opportunity creation across all key categories. In this role, you will act as the forward-looking control tower for supply, converting market insight into revenue, margin, and customer value. You will own proactive strategic sourcing programs including PPV and Excess. This role requires global experience. Your direct reports will include the Global Commodity Managers of each region.

This role can be based in Irvine, CA, Shenzhen, China or Singapore, and will require travel within the Americas, APAC and EMEA as needed.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

· Own the structure, performance, and development of the global Strategic Sourcing organization, including Global Commodity Managers (GCMs) and Strategic Sourcing Managers (Excess & PPV).

· Build, manage and continuously develop team expertise in market conditions, components, customers, products, and processes; drive accountability across all categories.

· Create content for cross-functional training across the company - Building team expertise and accountability across categories.

· Define and drive sourcing strategy across all key component categories.

· Build and leverage deep relationships across a professional network of component manufacturers, franchise distributors, and strategic suppliers

· Monitor and interpret global market signals including pricing, lead times, shortages, and geopolitical dynamics.

· Act as global control tower, partnering with Sales and Finance to develop & execute speculative inventory strategies and proactive offers.

· Lead PPV and Excess Sourcing programs and execution, including strategic sourcing from customers.

· Publish weekly market updates, offer sheets, and commodity insights.

· Lead internal monthly commodity reviews, contribute content into formal market reports, and collaborate with Marketing to enhance customer-facing content.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· Sales and GP generated from A-Commodities

· Hit Rate (conversion rate of Spec Buys, Proactive Offers) in assigned areas

· Dollar value of Excess stock acquired and converted to Revenue

· Revenue and Gross Profit generated from Proactive Offers

· PPV Sales and Gross Profit performance

· Achieve and maintain top-3 preferred supplier status with key PPV contract manufacturers, as measured by allocation priority and pricing access

· Market reporting quality and frequency

· Strategic Sourcing from Customers, beyond Excess
