Job description

Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager – Commercial Procurement | Pharma/Biotech

Location: Greater Boston Area, MA (Hybrid 2–3 days onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Status: Accepting Candidates

About the role

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives supporting a Commercial organization within a fast-paced pharmaceutical/biotech environment. This role will manage complex sourcing events, supplier relationships, and commercial contract negotiations from intake through execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives from intake through contract execution.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, market assessments, and supplier evaluations.
  • Manage competitive RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships, performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead contract negotiations for SOWs, MSAs, amendments, and renewals.
  • Partner with Commercial stakeholders, Legal, and Procurement throughout contract execution.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience.
  • Pharma or Biotech industry experience required.
  • Commercial procurement experience preferred.
  • Proven experience leading complex sourcing events.
  • Strong contract negotiation experience, including pricing, commercial terms, SLAs, rebates, and liability provisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree; familiarity with Coupa, iCertis, Ariba, or similar procurement systems.

Compensation (MA Pay Transparency):

  • Estimated hourly range: $70–$75/hr (W-2).
  • Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
