Job Summary:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  The Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in supporting BEDGEAR's global manufacturing and product development initiatives by identifying, vetting, and developing world-class supplier partners across raw materials, components, finished goods, and point-of-purchase materials.This role is responsible for global vendor discovery, cost modeling, counter costing, supplier negotiations, and qualification processes to ensure competitive pricing, engineering transparency, and scalable production capability. The Sourcing Manager partners cross-functionally with Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations to ensure new and existing products meet cost, quality, and delivery expectations across all global facilities.This position blends strategic sourcing expertise with hands-on supplier development and cost analysis to drive operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and margin performance across BEDGEAR's global supply chain.

Essential Functions (included but not limited to):

Global Supplier Identification & Development

  • Research, identify, and qualify new global vendors across diverse material categories including electrical components, steel, wood, textiles, foams, corrugates, springs, and finished consumer goods.
  • Build and maintain a diversified supplier network supporting raw material sourcing, component manufacturing, finished goods procurement, and in-store POP production such as racks, shelving, fixtures, and fitting booths.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on cost competitiveness, production capacity, technical capability, financial stability, compliance standards, sustainability practices, and long-term partnership potential.
  • Attend domestic and international trade shows to identify emerging suppliers, materials, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Conduct on-site vendor visits, both domestic and international, to assess manufacturing processes, quality systems, engineering transparency, and operational maturity.

Vendor Vetting & Qualification

  • Lead supplier onboarding processes including supplier audits, capability assessments, and production trials.
  • Establish partnership standards that include transparency into engineering processes, bill of materials, and supplier cost breakdown structures.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality, safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Partner with Product Development, Quality, and Engineering teams to validate tooling readiness, testing protocols, and counter sample approvals.

Cost Modeling & Counter Costing

  • Perform detailed counter costing on components, raw materials, and finished goods to validate supplier quotations.
  • Develop cost comparison models for new product sourcing initiatives including multi-supplier comparisons and landed cost analysis.
  • Evaluate cost drivers including freight, duties, tariffs, packaging, tooling amortization, and minimum order quantities.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure sourcing decisions support margin targets and overall business profitability.
  • Monitor commodity pricing trends and negotiate proactively to manage cost fluctuations.

Negotiation & Commercial Terms

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, tooling ownership, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Establish supplier agreements that balance cost savings with supply stability, scalability, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to formalize supplier contracts and risk mitigation strategies.

Global Manufacturing Support

  • Support global manufacturing initiatives by aligning sourcing strategies with production capabilities across multiple facilities.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Planning teams to ensure continuity of supply and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in establishing dual-sourcing strategies to protect against supply disruptions and capacity constraints.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and supply chain efficiency improvements.
  • Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities to support operational scalability and cost competitiveness.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Contribute to long-term sourcing strategies and the development of BEDGEAR's global supplier roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain sourcing documentation and tools to support future supplier evaluations and procurement initiatives.

Skills:

  • Strong experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a consumer goods or manufacturing environment
  • Experience sourcing raw materials, components, finished goods, and retail display fixtures
  • Advanced skills in counter costing, landed cost analysis, and supplier cost breakdown evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier contracts and commercial agreements
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, textiles, foam production, electrical components, packaging, and product assembly
  • Experience supporting vertically integrated or global manufacturing operations preferred
  • Advanced Excel and cost modeling capabilities
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 20-30%)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English literate and proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field required
  • Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or equivalent preferred
  • 5-8+ years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management
  • Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and supplier development initiatives
  • Experience with international supplier negotiations and factory evaluations preferred
