A sourcing coordinator, or procurement coordinator, is in charge of managing a company’s supply levels. You look at current stock and determine what should be purchased, how much should be purchased, and what vendor to use. You are in charge of maintaining a budget and keeping spending in check, and sometimes work with managers to keep track of supplies. Job duties may require you to travel to meet with suppliers. Typically, qualifications do not include a bachelor’s degree, though prior experience is helpful. To pursue this career, you need strong analytical skills and the ability to budget effectively.
