Job description

Overall Job Summary

This position will have oversight on Strategic Sourcing in a designated area for Tractor Supply Company.  This position is responsible for lead the sourcing to drive for best cost/quality/execution sourcing worldwide.  Working closely with Buyers, Planners, Imports, Logistics, Transportation, Vendors, Quality Assurance and Marketing.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Support the Product Development team by finding the best value (cost, quality and execution) factories 
  • Support the merchant team by assuring impeccable execution of all imports and domestic.
  • Driving the program from production planning through delivery. 
  • Track continuous improvement in cost, quality and lead times. 
  • Partner with internal and external stake holders including, Product Development, Agents, Factories, Imports, Logistics, Inventory, QC and Merchants taking responsibility for assuring timely execution Assure timeliness, completion and accuracy of vendor and sku set up, audit, testing and QC  
  • Contribute and attend all team, department, division, and corporate meetings representing 
  • Develop expertise in the internal and external systems necessary to do the strategic sourcing job 
  • Understand and communicate on worldwide sourcing for designated categories.
  • Monitor, organize and communicate on country trends, regulations, duties, exchange rates, and labor rates, source of supply and relevant raw material's availability and costs. 
  • Support the on boarding of new factories and agents 
  • Support the Director in leading and maintaining the factory and agent relationship, negotiations, bid/rebid process and execution including set up, tracking, and maintaining systems and reporting. 
  • Participate in tactical meetings with vendors and manufacturers to develop strategy and business partnerships 
  • May perform other duties as assigned
     
Required Qualifications

Experience: 4+ years of experience in sourcing/product development

Education: Bachelor degree in sourcing related field or relevant experience equivalent

Professional Certifications: None
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
  • High capacity in Microsoft word, Excel/PowerPoint, Proficient- MS Office & Power Bi 
  • Prefer: Experience and understanding of manufacturing 
    • Component costing
    • Experience with factories, molds and production process
  • Experience with retail sourcing and product development operation for omni-channel large scale retailer
  • Prefer: Experience and understanding of QA/QC process and testing
  • Prefer: Experience working with overseas travel, offices and agents
  • Plan and organize trip and travel as needed both domestic and overseas.
  • Coordinate with Agents, Sourcing, PD, Merchants, QA and Factories. Assure well thought out productive goals that relate directly to the short and long term priorities of the department as indicated by Director
