Job description

As the Senior Procurement Category Manager of Construction, Fixtures, and Store Experiences will join the team responsible for development of category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, and contracting activities across multiple categories across Best Buy's real estate portfolio of properties (areas of spend). This is a high-impact position, with responsibility to commercially manage and strategically source products and/or services within multiple categories with ranging complexities. The position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives, large strategic suppliers, and highly complex agreements. The right candidate will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact with noticeable results. TheBest Buy Procurementorganization has undergone a significant transformation to become a strategic value generating business enabler. 
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another nonBest Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
  • Lead category management and strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned spend areas, including RFx events, supplier negotiations, contracting, spend analysis, market research, and opportunity identification.
  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business objectives, leveraging data-driven insights, optimal sourcing methodologies, and strategic vision to deliver measurable value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and business leaders across the enterprise, influencing decision-making and translating organizational priorities into effective procurement strategies.
  • Manage strategic supplier partnerships and contract negotiations, including agreements representing up to $100M in contractual obligations, to maximize value, accountability, and business outcomes.
  • Apply strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities, address complex challenges, and drive informed decision-making through internal and external insights.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful execution of sourcing initiatives, communicate effectively with audiences up to the C-suite, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement and organizational excellence.
Basic Qualifications 
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related scope functions, including direct experience with negotiations of $10-$100 million contracts.
  • 3+ years collaborating with and influencing executive and senior-level stakeholders / business partners.
  • 2+ years of dedicated experience on complex agreements.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, business, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related scope functions, including direct experience with negotiations of $1-$100 million contracts.
  • 3 years of experience working within a matrix Fortune 200 organization a plus.
