What You'll Do
  • Lead agency strategic sourcing, purchasing, and contracting activities.
  • Manage solicitations, bids, proposals, evaluations, contract awards, and related procurement processes.
  • Partner with internal customers to understand business needs and develop appropriate sourcing solutions.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of agency purchasing and contracting procedures.
  • Build productive relationships with vendors, state agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, supply sources, and opportunities to improve procurement practices.
  • Help identify process improvements that strengthen service delivery, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

As our Sourcing Supervisor, you will lead strategic sourcing and contracting activities while supervising a team of financial, sourcing, and budget professionals. You will work closely with agency leaders, program areas, vendors, and other state partners to ensure goods and services are procured effectively, competitively, and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must submit a complete application through the State of Ohio careers site and clearly describe how their education and/or work experience demonstrates that they meet the minimum qualifications. Be sure to include relevant fiscal, accounting, procurement, reporting, systems, and training experience in the application.
Minimum qualifications for this classification include one of the following:
  • Have at least 4 ½ years' experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing to include exp. in performing spend analysis, developing sourcing strategy & evaluating vendor performance.
  • Completion of undergraduate core in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field with at least 2 ½ years' experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
  • Completion of graduate core in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field with at least 1 ½ years' experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
  • Have at least 2 years' experience as Senior Sourcing Analyst with the State of Ohio.
  • Have at least 1 year experience as Sourcing Planner with the State of Ohio.
  • The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
