Registered Nurse II (Specialist)

Mb Staffing Services is seeking a temporary Registered Nurse II for our client located in Washington, DC. The Registered Nurse II (Specialist) shall be responsible to facilitate progressive medical treatment/rehabilitation and timely return to work of the injured worker.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assesses and analyzes injured worker's medical notes and reports
• As needed, develops, implements, and monitors a progressive plan of care
• Facilitates medical recovery and early return to work
• Secures MMI dates and restrictions at each contact
• Addresses gaps in treatment plans and identifies barriers to recovery
• Using evidence-based criteria, evaluates the claimant status and progress towards recovery and return to work
• Acts as liaison for involved parties with the claimant, physicians, claims examiners, return to work specialists, and program leadership
• Informs Claimant, physician and Team of progress or plateaus in treatment
• As required, presents claimant cases in weekly rounds
• Works with Tort and Litigation on assigned claims
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing currently licensed to practice in the District of Columbia
• Must have experience understanding and applying evidence-based criteria guidance
• Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in telephonic case management, some of which was spent in a in a workers compensation environment
• Must have strong knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to HIPAA, Workers' Compensation and ADA
• Working familiarity with International Classification of Diseases 10th Rev. (ICD-10), Current Procedural Terminology Codes (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS)
• Awareness of the healthcare revenue cycle
• Active case management certification preferred
• Shall be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Must produce quality work, with few errors. The incumbent shall be able to perform with little supervision once trained
• Must possess effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
• Must be a professional individual with absolute dependability to be on the job, on time, every day
• Must exercise a high level of discretion and integrity with regard to subjects or activities considered sensitive or requiring tact and diplomacy
• Must work well with others while handling multiple tasks
• Must have excellent customer service
