Maintenance Manager

Job Summary: The Maintenance Manager will develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans for heavy duty trucks and trailers. Supervising all maintenance on trucks, trailers and shop equipment. Fielding and resolving breakdown calls. Plan daily manpower to meet workflow. Manage parts inventory and oversee warranty information. Working closely with the Director of Maintenance on any issues that should arise.

Challenges, problems, changes made or improvements needed?

Daily Duties:

• Schedule regular preventive maintenance
• Hand out daily work assignments
• Coordinate with Fleet Managers, Drivers and Safety for repairs needed
• Maximize efficiency and minimize the cost of repairs
• Assist technicians in developing skills

KPI’s:

• Unscheduled downtime
• Reactive maintenance work hours
• Maintenance costs
• Work order cycle time
• Increasing work planning

Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing a team of Mechanics and Assistants in alignment with company safety policies and DOT regulations to ensure a safe and efficient fleet

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plan for heavy duty trucks and trailers
• Hiring, oversight and direction of all maintenance/shop employees
• Supervise all maintenance on trucks, trailers, and shop equipment.
• Fielding and resolving all breakdown calls
• Maintain existing and develop new relationships with vendors
• Plan daily manpower to meed workflow
• Manage parts inventory and oversee warranty info.
• Notify drivers and schedule all Tractor and Trailer PM's in company shop or in partner shops and on the road.
• Read all completed repair orders to ensure all work was done correctly.
• Requirements
• Experience in fleet maintenance operations, developing strategies to enhance performance and managing shop personnel
• Knowledge of heavy duty tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Basic Computer proficiency
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
• ASE certification or an active is a big plus but not required
