Associate Accountant

• Onsite position
•Temporary position anticipated through the end of the year

Responsibilities:
• Under direct supervision, demonstrate awareness and knowledge of applicable professional accounting standards.
• Accurately record financial transactions and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
• Develop competence through performing structured work assignments.
• Build knowledge of the organization, processes, products, tools, and customers.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting: use existing procedures to perform basic accounting analysis and reporting of financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), statutory accounting principles (SAP), tax regulations, or other regulatory guidance. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Perform transaction processing and exception handling.
o Conduct month-end close activities.
o Calculate routine journal entries and provide accurate and timely financial submissions.
o Reconcile accounts and prepare and provide financial data for inclusion in the financial control process.
o Conduct routine variance analysis.
o Extract and deliver straightforward management information reports used in decision-making.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience required
• CPA or other applicable certifications preferred
• Understand general compliance requirements and apply these to creating accurate and timely financial submissions.
• Understand the internal control framework and use this information to provide basic risk mitigation techniques.
• Operate financial controls, specific user access and/or data integrity controls.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with regulatory internal control guidance including items such as SOX.
• Perform other duties or essential functions as needed.
