About the Role


As a HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing support to management and employees for all day-to-day HR-related needs within the assigned Hub/Department and in support of the company mission, values, culture, and objectives. The HRBP establishes partnerships and serves as an advisor to management in support of their workforce needs of recruiting, developing, coaching, and mentoring employees; resolving employee relations issues; and providing employee discipline and termination guidance as necessary.


What will you do?

  • Provides day-to-day guidance to management regarding employee performance management, coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations with supporting documentation.
  • Provides guidance and input on employee promotions and transfers, area/department restructuring, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Partners with management to proactively identify recruitment needs.
  • Gathers and prepares required information in support of requisition request and job posting. Monitors approval of requisition and posts jobs according to established process.
  • Will make determination as necessary to utilize additional job posting services and/or recruitment/staffing agencies in support of generating a candidate pool.
  • Sources and screens candidates, conducts phone and in-person interviews, recommends candidates to hiring managers and guides in decision making of new hires.
  • May attend job and career fairs in support of Landus hiring needs and to generate qualified candidates.
  • Initiates and analyzes candidate assessments and corresponds with hiring manager on any concerns.
  • Prepares offer letters and coordinates new hire screening.
  • Provides communication to candidates who are not qualified, not selected, or otherwise not hired.
  • Assists management and employees with identifying training needs and opportunities. Follows-up to ensure training objectives were met and if further development is needed.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • May assist with developing and delivering training of HR policies and procedures.
  • May assist with answering day-to-day benefits, payroll, and time and labor reporting questions posed by management and employees.
  • Participates in regular meetings with management and employees to provide updates on HR initiatives such as performance management, recruitment activities, benefit programs, policies and procedures, learning and development programs, legal updates, and related.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains metrics and analyzes trends related to role responsibilities and in support of HR team objectives.
  • Will establish personal goals and participate in developing HR team goals, strategies, programs, and policies and procedures.
  • During peak seasonal recruitment periods, may assist with supporting company-wide hiring objectives through managing requisitions, advertising and posting positions, interviewing, conducting background check/MVR/drug screening, and completing related new employee paperwork.
  • Will have other projects and tasks assigned that are important to the overall objectives of the HR team.
  • Implement HRMS initiatives.
Requirements:

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including performance management, salary administration, benefits administration, recruitment, discipline, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
  • Able to write simple correspondence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills

Location & Commitments

  • This is a remote position that may be required to occasionally attend meetings in Des Moines.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
