Staging Technician - POS Systems

Summary

The Staging Technician images and configures computer, POS terminal, server, peripheral and networking hardware and software systems based on provided step-by-step documentation.

Essential Job Duties

• Loads appropriate images via PXE network boot by selecting the appropriate image from a menu.
• Configures individual terminal settings (i.e. IP Address, Computer Name and other step-by-step customer-specific configuration settings)
• Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication
• Installs peripheral hardware and software based on customer specifications (i.e. Biometric readers, credit card readers, etc.)
• Refers any malfunctions or problems to manager
• Connects customer hardware to networks and provides remote access information to customer’s team
• Completes testing of all computer, peripheral, and networking hardware and software based on customer testing script

Qualifications

• Proficient with basic computer software
• Strong ability to communicate via verbal and electronic medias
• Technical Capacity
• Learning Orientated
• Strong problem solving/analysis skills

Education and Experience

• Some college coursework in an IT related field or equivalent work experience is preferred
• Have a solid grasp on PC software and troubleshooting skills, Point of Sale is a huge plus but not required
