Job Description
Pennant Solutions Group is in search of a Commercial Project Manager in the Richmond, VA area. The best applicant would have previous experience in running multi-million-dollar projects.

Summary/Objective:

Project Manager (PM) - oversees all aspects of planning and implementing the delivery of commercial construction projects, including Mechanical, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, HVAC, Electrical, and Fire Protection (sprinkler) systems, along with respective subcontractors. PMs possess expertise in MEP systems design and construction, responsible for reviewing plans and specifications for design and constructability issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Foster positive morale on the project site.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments (pre-construction, sales, safety, purchasing, CAD/BIM, fabrication shops) and client personnel to develop and maintain construction plans, schedules, and procurement strategies.
  • Monitor key metrics daily (manpower, material/equipment deliveries, etc.) and mentor site leadership to ensure timely execution and completion of work within budget and with no defects or accidents.
  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain project budgets, providing reports to senior management on key metrics.
  • Generate Revenue Forecasts, Schedule of Values, Cash Flow analysis, and other financial analyses.
  • Identify scope changes, prepare pricing, and submit potential change orders to customers.
  • Develop recovery plans for projects experiencing issues such as safety, quality, or production setbacks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and/or 8+ years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions (written and oral), pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screening and potentially additional background checks (e.g., DMV, criminal history).
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Availability to work assigned schedules.

Work Environment:

  • May work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness.
  • May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels and fumes or airborne particles, including dust.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces or from heights.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing duties, the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and have adequate vision capabilities.

Travel:

  • May require some travel.

Preferred:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Familiarity with the BIM process.
  • Prior experience with Procore - Project Management System.
  • Prior military experience.
