Position Background:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales who will play a pivotal role leading and directing sales efforts in the East to maximize revenue and operational excellence while achieving assigned growth targets.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing and executing a high-growth, successful sales strategy with disruptive technology. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of success attracting, developing and retaining top talent and leading high performing teams that consistently deliver results. This role will report to the Vice President of Sales and can be a Remote role.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Vice President of Sales to create and implement a U.S. launch and market development sales strategy
  • Leverage analytics to accurately forecast and implement operational plans to hit/exceed quota and drive revenue growth
  • Drive excellence in execution
  • Build employee and customer excitement by articulating Humacyte’s vision and mission
  • Build, lead and inspire a high performing sales team that delivers results and exceeds expectations ensuring they are motivated, developed, incentivized, and retained
  • Create a winning culture based on trust and accountability, holding self and team members to a high standard of excellence
  • Demonstrate proficiency in product and procedural knowledge, competitive insight, market understanding and healthcare economics
  • Spend a significant amount of time in the field to coach, assess rep competency, drive customer engagement, monitor market trends and competition, review results, set performance expectations, revise professional development plans and business plans
  • Strong emotional intelligence with excellent written and verbal communication skills and active listening skills
  • Motivates team to view challenges as opportunities and demonstrates proficiency in problem solving
  • Attend key medical conferences and symposiums
  • Manage to the assigned budget and review Sales Representatives expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Manage KOL relationships to identify themes across customer needs and drive core initiatives to improve customer success. Responsible for key customer development and continually expands network of clinical champions.
  • Demonstrate effective time and resource management through prioritization in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs to deliver high impact medical education programs, also in conjunction with MSLs
  • Demonstrates change agility and adversity quotient

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team
  • Adheres to company and facility specific policies and procedures, including SOP, training and meeting requirements
  • Always observe safety precautions and regulations in all areas where duties are performed
  • Responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions
  • Ensures Humacyte or other required trainings/certifications are up to date
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled

Qualifications:

  • Degree in life sciences or biomedical engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a Sales Leadership role, with a track record of enabling rapid and sustainable growth and success across multiple product markets
  • 5+ years of experience as a Sales Representative with consistent results achieving quota in a high growth business
  • Experience partnering with recruiters to build high performing teams
  • Strong business acumen
  • Startup experience preferred
  • Hospital/OR sales experience required. Vascular surgery, trauma surgery and/or life sciences market experience preferred
  • Ability to implement clinical data and scientific foundation into sales strategies required
  • Experience driving organizational excellence through developmental coaching and mentorship of sales representatives
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com or other CRM systems is highly desired
