Overall
Is responsible for the safety of all production employees across all shifts, Right The First Time quality of our manufactured products, meeting production schedules, driving continuous improvement, and achieving production cost targets while maintaining a positive work environment. Responsible for directing and overseeing all production operations across all shifts.
Safety
Provides a safe work environment by identifying and mitigating safety risks, meets regulatory requirements and ensures employees use safe work practices.
Quality
Ensures employees understand and perform their responsibilities relating to quality including in process checks and documentation of results. Spot checks processes to make sure established quality procedures are being followed.Uses root cause analysis to problem solve issues so they do not reoccur.
Delivery
Achieves schedule attainment by following up with employees to ensure they are meeting the production schedule on a daily and weekly basis. Closely monitors progress of work through the shop and addresses constraints in a timely manner.
Follows up with Shipping to ensure all products are produced on schedule for always on time delivery to our customers.
Stays abreast of the production schedule, follows through on issues relating to production and moves resources as needed based on changing schedules and availability of resources.
Works with sales to track and report status of work and to expedite rush orders.
Evaluates capacity to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
Sets clear daily and weekly production expectations for Leads and Supervisor(s) and follows through to ensure they meet these expectations.
Plans for production staffing levels plus manages daily and weekly staffing levels to meet production commitments.
Participates as a primary liaison for Production for other departments.
Cost
Sets efficiency goals for each production employee and provides follow up to encourage continuous improvement.
Seeks ideas for reducing cost and leads continuous improvement activities.
People
Manages training of all employees including onboarding of new employees, skill development of current employees, personal growth opportunities, and ongoing training of all production employees.
Generates a culture of respect and trust among the production team and within the company fostering a spirit of cooperation within all departments. Is expected to lead by example.
Responsible for making sure company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs.
Provides regular feedback, coaches on a regular basis, and gives routine evaluations of performance and behavior.
Resolves production and personnel problems by investigating issues plus evaluating and implementing solutions.
Motivates, supports, and provides guidance to all production staff.
Ensures production floor is kept neat and clean plus leads 5S throughout the shop.
Communicates with other departments effectively regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Ensure that good communication is given to all members of staff including senior management.
Processes
Participates in the selection and implementation of new or improved production processes and machines to achieve future growth.
Responsible for making sure all company policies are followed.
Actively requests ideas for improvement of processes and spearheads improvements in collaboration with production staff and other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recognition of nonconforming products and services
To have a basic understanding of the ISO Quality and Documentation System
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and/or quality system
Authority as determined by Management for final disposition of product
Participate as required in quality audits and in developing quality plans
Carry out tasks in a safe manner in accordance with known and/or published safety policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Develops plans that ensure operations run smoothly
Collects and reviews data to drive improvements and reduce waste
Coordinates plant activities through planning with department managers to ensure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards
Utilizes ERP system to maintain production and achieve production objectives
Provides clear leadership on all issues related to the accomplishment of the Plant’s production objectives.
Develops, trains, assists and advises subordinate managers, evaluating current performance capabilities and future career growth potential.
Assesses present and future technical and process needs, trends, problems and improvement areas and develops actions plans to drive improvements
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

AUTHORITY
Effect any change(s) necessary to control and maintain the Falls Fabricating LLC, ISO-9001:2015 Quality System
Initiate corrective and preventive actions as necessary to support ISO-9001:2015 registration/certification
Stop production if any process adversely affects product quality
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering and/or a minimum of 5 years direct supervision, production management, plant management experience in a sheet metal fabrication, machine shop, or similar manufacturing environment.
Experience in reporting on key production metrics
Strong decision-making skills with a result driven approach
Excellent communication skills in motivating our employees and supporting our culture
Proven experience as plant manager managing multiple shift shop floor operations
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
Strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges effectively
Demonstrated ability to drive for results and achieve operational objectives
Demonstrated self-starter and able to self-monitor with minimal oversight.
Other required or recommended knowledge, skills or abilities:
Manufacturing product position located in the heart of Lakes Country. We have over 400 lakes and 200+ holes of golf within 40 miles
