Human Resources Generalist - Recruiter

Salaried, Exempt, Full-Time (Mon-Fri)

Saber is looking for an HR Generalist / Recruiter to join our award-winning team. This role will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities helping us to plan and administer important HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, driving retention, employee relations, safety administration, compliance, compensation and benefits analysis, as well as continuing to cultivate, foster and impact our amazing culture, and have an influential voice on our leadership team.

Some job duties include:
  • Recruiting, Interviewing, Hiring, and Onboarding
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into our HR information systems.
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required.
  • Work with department managers for staffing needs and source, recruit, screen, interview and hire prospective candidates.
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Create and audit employee files for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters such as worker's comp including conducting and coordinating all reported workers' compensation claims, ADA, leave administration, and OSHA 300/300a/301 reporting and upkeep.
  • Ensures that the workers' compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers' compensation laws.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave and workers' compensation programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and the legal department.
  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field required
  • SHRM or PHR Certification is strongly preferred
  • Additional HR training or experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a large-scale HR department
  • Natural interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking System
  • Knowledge of HR federal and State laws and regulations
