We are actively recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer I or II to support our design of water treatment equipment, support process improvements, and repairs or renovate existing water treatment facilities. This position focuses on the mechanical design and development of process improvements for water treatment plants which requires experience in pumps, piping, valving, filtration, aeration, dewatering, and chemical dosing.

Essential Functions

· Designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

· Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes.

· Identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products.

· Uses Solidworks software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products.

· Conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products.

· Completes work on time and on budget and to established quality requirements.

· Oversee daily model management, administration, and maintenance.

· Work with vendors on finding, selecting, and purchasing equipment.

· Develop and maintain part and equipment libraries.

· Create initial project setup with workflow documents.

Minimum Education and Experience

· Demonstrated proficiency with Solidworks.

· 0 to 4 years of work experience in the design of water/wastewater treatment facilities preferred.

· Bachelor's degree mechanical engineering or related field.

· Understanding of proper piping design which includes selection of pumps, valves and tanks.

· Working experience with mechanical components such as pumps, filters and agitators.

· Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (MATLAB, Excel, and/or LabView).

· Understanding of core concepts including mechanics, statics, thermodynamics, materials of construction and fluid dynamics.

· Demonstrates competent presentation and communication skills.

You will WOW us if you have these:

· Knowledge of controls systems, SCADA.

· Ability to create P&IDs with the input of process and chemical engineers.

· Certified Solidworks associate (CSWA).

This is a full-time position with a standard, established schedule working day shift hours. Work supporting other shifts and locations may be required as operational needs demand.

Salary range is $65,000 to $90,000
