Engine Repair Shop Supervisor

Summary:

The Engine Shop Supervisor will play an integral role in the daily operations of the Engine Repair Station and will work under the direction of the Director of Quality with minimal supervision. The Supervisor will provide guidance and leadership to personnel to achieve organizational goals while ensuring shop floor optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the daily operations of the Repair Station in compliance with all applicable Code of Federal Regulations, Repair Station Procedures, customer requirements, and manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Promote and support all Willis Engine Repair Center safety initiatives and programs.
• Monitor crew assignments to ensure that adequately trained and qualified personnel are assigned to accomplish required tasks.
• Provide oversight and guidance to Maintenance/Inspection Team Leads.
• Monitor Airworthiness Directive accomplishment to ensure proper compliance.
• Assist with on-the-job training for assigned maintenance personnel.
• Act as the backup person for the tool calibration program.
• Monitor incoming materials status to ensure timely utilization of procured materials.
• Work with leads to ensure schedules, days off, vacation, and training schedules are monitored as needed.
• Ensure all shop areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Must have an FAA A&P License.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in aircraft and/or jet engine; engine experience is required, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Prefer CFM-56-5B, CFM56-7B and V2500.
• Careful workmanship and attention to detail in performing duties.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions because of a degree of responsibility required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow manual instructions in English.
• Written and oral communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and to discuss equipment malfunction.
• Ability to train mechanics with procedures, methods, and practices in accomplishing tasks timely.
• Ability to lift or pull objects weighing as much as 70 pounds frequently.
• Agility to stand, lie, or kneel in awkward positions and to perform work from scaffolds or ladders.
• Manual dexterity is required to operate tools to adjust and repairs.
• Sufficient visual acuity to inspect equipment for defects.
• Ability to work at times in small, confined spaces.

• Moderate.
