Job description

Precision Custom Components (PCC) is seeking a talented Quality Engineering Supervisor to join our team. This is an on-site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in York, PA.
At PCC, you’ll be part of a skilled team that delivers high-quality, made-to-spec components where precision, reliability, and customer focus matter. Whether you’re driving results in the office or making them happen on the shop floor, you’ll collaborate across departments to solve problems, support efficient operations, and help ensure every component is completed safely, accurately, and with precision!
This position is concerned with planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating of the Quality Engineering Department. This includes establishing work priorities, assigning the work, and training department personnel.
Essential Duties of the Quality Engineering Supervisor:
  • Shows commitment to quality ethics and focuses on meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Manages time, skills and resources to produce maximum volume of work and reduction of errors.
  • Assesses and prioritizes work requirements; develops and executes plans in a timely manner and accepts advice and/or direction well.
  • Hire, train, develop, and maintain a highly competent staff.
  • Determine the minimum Quality Engineering personnel requirements in terms of staffing level, qualifications, and special training. Make project, task and area assignments to accomplish prearranged goals and objectives.
  • Prepare long range quality plans based upon forecasted needs of the company.
  • Supervise the preparation of inspection instructions and procedures required to ensure the product may be accurately compared to the applicable specifications.
  • Recommend product quality objectives and goals.
  • Formulate quality policy and recommend it to the Director, Quality Assurance.
  • Provide cost estimates of planned quality engineering and inspection activities in the production of components and of special requirements for inclusion in proposals to customers.
  • Analyze the Company's quality costs and provide analyses as a basis for implementing positive action in the areas of prevention, appraisal and failure for overall reduction in quality cost.
  • Develop statistical techniques to control and improve the quality of the product.
  • Keep informed on quality applications and technologies.
  • Recommend improvements in the quality system made possible by new equipment and techniques.
  • Represent quality assurance in contacts with customers and vendor representatives.
  • Develop/maintain the company Quality Manual.
  • Coordinate all internal Quality Assurance auditing programs.
  • Perform as primary interface between customer quality assurance and the company in the resolution of quality systems problems.
Education/Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Science or Business. Advanced degree and/or P.E. registration desirable.
  • Five to ten years total in manufacturing, a significant portion of which is in quality assurance or engineering assignments or demonstrated successful experience as a Quality Engineer for the equivalent time.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of quality assurance, excellent communication skills and proven managerial skills.
  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications such as WORD, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Membership in appropriate technical or professional societies is expected.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to conceive ideas and adapt those concepts into effective strategies.
  • US citizenship is required
