Job Purpose:
The Treatment Director is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive delivery of treatment services within our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). As a key leadership role, the Treatment Director ensures the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care, aligning treatment services with best practices and regulatory standards. Holding a dual role as the required 245G counselor supervisor, this position champions clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and adherence to state and federal guidelines, fostering an environment that supports recovery and well-being.


Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall delivery of treatment services in the IOP and OTP, ensuring programs meet the needs of clients with substance use disorders.
Serve as the 245G counselor supervisor, overseeing clinical staff to ensure compliance with state regulations and promoting best practices in substance use disorder treatment.
Develop, implement, and review treatment protocols and policies, incorporating the latest research and guidelines in addiction medicine and counseling.
Facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, working collaboratively with medical, nursing, and administrative staff to provide holistic care.
Oversee staff training and development, ensuring team members are knowledgeable about the implications of relevant chapters and sections, including 245A, 260E, 626.557, and 626.5572.
Ensure documentation of all treatment services and staff qualifications meets regulatory requirements and best practices for quality care and confidentiality.
Lead efforts in program evaluation and quality improvement, using data to drive decisions and enhance the effectiveness of treatment services.
Utilize the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to guide assessment, treatment planning, and service delivery, ensuring that care levels and interventions are appropriately matched to the individual needs of clients throughout their recovery journey. Regularly update knowledge and practice based on changes and developments in ASAM criteria to maintain the highest standard of care.


Required Qualifications

Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in the state of Minnesota.
At least three years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services.
Three or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder.
Five years of experience in the substance use disorder treatment field.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the implications of chapters and sections including 245G, 245A.65, 626.557, 626.5572, and 260E.


Preferred Skills

Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team of professionals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with team members, clients, and external stakeholders.
Deep understanding of substance use disorders, treatment modalities, and the recovery process.
Proficiency in electronic health records and data analysis for program evaluation and quality improvement.
A commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, and advocacy for individuals with substance use disorders.
