Job Description

Full Charge Bookkeeper
Local Plumbing & Heating Contractor in need of a full charge bookkeeper. We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper who will take overall responsibility for managing all financial transactions and maintaining accurate records for our company. In this position, you will be responsible for accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. You will also be expected to generate financial reports, maintain the general ledger, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards
Manage and maintain the company's financial records and transactions
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections
Manage payroll and employee benefits, including calculating and processing payroll, tracking vacation and sick time, and administering health insurance and retirement plans
Prepare and file monthly sales tax for CT & NY
Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including analyzing financial data and making recommendations for improvement
Yearly 1099’s, workers comp audits
Communicate financial information to management, including presenting reports and answering questions
401K, Health insurance ( paid 75% ), paid holidays, vacation & personal time.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum of 5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations
Experience in preparing financial statements and reports
Attention to detail and accuracy a must
Notary will be required
Salary range 60k-80k
