McKenna Labs is a full-service contract manufacturing company that specializes in hair, skin and body care products. We've been in the personal care development and manufacturing industry since 1998. We are in search of a dynamic and self-driven Production Supervisor to take charge of our 2nd shift operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Contributes to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
Supervises the daily activities of assigned staff, providing instructions and performance feedback to ensure that productivity and quality objectives are met or exceeded, and monitoring schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Routinely informs, trains, and communicates with employees to promote smooth operations, enhance their understanding of company policies and objectives, and to ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), work instructions, production policies and procedures.
Ensures that behaviors, practices, and the work environment support a safe workplace by enforcing safety rules and good manufacturing practices (GMP’s).
Provides technical and organization leadership as it relates to typical production functions, including filling, packaging, and inventory control. Be the thoughts leader for best practices in these functional areas.
Relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes.
Performs work with an understanding of the importance of increasing uptime and decreasing waste and production costs. Identifies production bottlenecks and offers suggestions on how to resolve them.
Responsible for department staffing matters including hires, performance management, training, timekeeping, corrective action, and adherence to company policies.
Maintains a positive and productive relationship with team, peers, and others with whom the position may have contact.
Qualifications

Over 4 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing role with lead or supervisory experience, preferably in food, cosmetic, or personal care manufacturing environment.
Expert understanding of line manufacturing processes.
Ability to work independently and be comfortable making decisions based on limited information.
A high level of confidence, integrity, and critical thinking skills, establishing credibility and decisiveness while balancing varying business considerations and priorities.
Must have a proven ability to demonstrate leadership skills in a team environment. Ability to recognize, anticipate, analyze, and resolve organizational/people, operational or process opportunities. Ability to negotiate and persuade without necessarily having direct authority.
Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with all levels of personnel. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Must have solid mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, convert English/Metric units, and apply concepts to practical situations.
Must have the ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel, stand for extended periods of time up to the duration of a shift, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 – $101,000 annually. Compensation is commensurate with level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
